1. Primitive Baptist Church

This church was the second church built in the Cove and was one of the last buildings to be donned by the National Register of Historic Places. There was a time during the civil war when this church paused its worship services due to its pastor being sent off to war. Upon his return, services picked up right where they left off.

2. Methodist Church

The Methodist Church was built in 1820 and was built by a carpenter, JD McCampbell. JD later became the minister of this church. This church took 115 days to build at the cost of $1 per day, totaling $115.

3. Missionary Baptist Church

In 1839, the Missionary Baptist Church came to life. The congregation to worship here was originally a part of the Primitive Baptist Church. Though they are from the same denomination, a portion of the congregation wanted to create a new church dedicated to missionary work. During the spring you might find some daffodils in an odd formation- If you look closely enough you will see they were planted to spell “CO.5427”. When the Civilian Conservation Corps was building trails, a member planted these daffodils to pay homage to the CCC.
