Anakeesta
Anakeesta can be accessed from downtown Gatlinburg via an open-air chair lift or a chondola cabin. The top of Anakeesta is an open-air market and village with shops, eateries, activities, and gorgeous views. Plan to stay around for dinner and enjoy dessert while watching the sunset.
Gatlinburg Skylift Park
The Gatlinburg Skylift Park can be accessed from the strip of downtown Gatlinburg. To reach the summit, you will ride an open-air chair lift to the top of the mountain. The sky deck allows you to see out all over downtown Gatlinburg and into the neighboring mountains of the Smokies. There are several observation points, especially the suspension bridge, that offer panoramic views.
The Overlook via Bypass
The Gatlinburg Overlook is the most popular “postcard view” observation area located off of the Gatlinburg By-Pass. From here you can look out over downtown Gatlinburg and Mt. LeConte.
Clingmans Dome
From here you will stand at 6,643 feet high in elevation. Clingmans Dome has an observation deck and tower that allows you to drive up, park, and walk to the highest point of the Smokies and the Appalachian Trail.
Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway
The Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway can be accessed from downtown Gatlinburg via the strip or River Road on the backside of the main parkway. The tram is a closed cabin that suspends from a cable car system and travels above the mountains to Ober Gatlinburg. Along the tram ride, you will be able to see unattainable views of the Smoky Mountains and downtown Gatlinburg.
