Heartland cabins is the best! I came two years ago and stayed in one of their cabins and loved every minute of it. My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to Gatlinburg and stay in another Heartland Cabin and it did not disappoint. Location was perfect! Great distance from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg! No inconvenience at all to go back for a few hours between attractions. Very peaceful and the view was amazing! Clean and enough silverware/plates. Only issues was the water pressure in the shower and the tub didn’t drain very fast that’s about it but other than that 10/10 would recommend!

The property worked well for us being newlyweds! We did rearrange the living room a bit so we could watch tv comfortably on the couch. The screened in porch was so nice as we enjoyed the hot tub. We were also spoiled with the king sized bed!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the Bear Pause cabin. It was situated just outside of Pigeon Forge on the south side. It was a very quiet cabin with a spectacular view. The cabin was well equipped and had all the necessary options. The hot tub was a huge hit for relaxing after long days of visiting the various sites around the area. Cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway. Comfortable and nice.

We stayed at Bear Pause. The cabin was pretty much just as it said online. The location was convenient. We enjoyed our stay! The only complaint we have is with the pull out couch mattress. My daughter slept on it. It was uncomfortable. We kind of expected that anyway since most pull outs are not great for sleeping. That room would have been better if it had a day bed with a good mattress. Other than that, everything was great!

My husband and I loved our stay at Bear Pause. We had stayed in the same area 3 years ago for our wedding honeymoon and have been wanting to go back for our anniversary. We love the location of the cabin, as it is centrally located for things to do in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The cabin was absolutely beautiful with an amazing view. We have been coming down to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg for 40 years and the Bear Pause cabin was one of the best. The views were beautiful and the cabin was fantastic. The staff at heartland made this experience very enjoyable. One improvement would be to add WiFi. A lot of people work from home and that addition would make this a 10 star cabin. We will definitely be coming back.

Perfect for Wedding Groups!

I live in Illinois and decided to work with Above the Mist Wedding Coordinators to help plan my out of state wedding in Gatlinburg. At their recommendation, we advised our guests interested in staying in a cabin to work with Heartland Cabin Rentals who offered the added bonus of a 10% discount to guests attending an Above the Mist wedding. So glad we did!!!! The customer service was fantastic and made it sooo easy for us and all of our guests to find a great place to meet their needs at one of the best prices we were able to find. Additionally, it was a perfect location in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg which made it very easy to get where we needed to go quickly. I highly recommend working with them for wedding guests!

MUST READ.....

AMAZING....Wonderful....delightful...my hubby and me were celebrating 30 years of marriage. We had our honeymoon here and we got to see some special memories that were still here but many are either gone or replaced. We enjoyed the most amazing cabin ever...here are something you may want to keep in mind.

1. EXCELLENT - attraction pass...they give you what they say they will...my favorite was Hatfield and McCoy...this one give you all the food you can eat and if you have ziplock bags you can take the food home with you.

2. There is about 8 cabins in this location and VERY private but they are watching each car / truck that comes up. If you are NOT suppose to be there the security team is on you fast and will let you know that you don't belong there.

3. You need a 4 wheel drive to go straight up the mountain - the roads wind a bit - I would suggest you get back to the cabin before dark because passing people on the road is a nightmare (they don't like to share the road).

4. There is NO WI-FI....we were able to go to 3 bears on the Parkway to look up emails and contact work if need be.

5. The bathroom is located on the 1st floor ... NO BATHROOM where the bed is upstairs...leave a light on to find your way to the bathroom...

6. The shower is in the hallway with the washer and dryer across from it...I loved this because you could run a load while you were out site seeing and come back to throw them in the dryer.

7. I loved the dishes...they have bears on them and the cabin is supplied with dish soap and dishwasher soap for 2 loads...there is also towels for dishes and your body but you will need laundry soap to wash them.

8. The hot tub was wonderful - you can see the stars and moon at night. the swing on the back porch was my favorite

9. The ice machine will save you some money on ice..if you take a small cooler with 2 small ice pack it can last all day

10. The king size bed was amazing to wake up the mountains in the morning. There is a 2nd bedroom that we used for our suitcases when were getting ready for the day.

11. The parking is a little tight but after a few times you get the hang of it...Long porch that has 2 chairs waiting to see if there is any bears...we saw nothing.

12. This is a wonderful cabin that will hold special memories for me and my hubby...we both have been on a journey with pancreatic cancer and ovarian cancer ....loosing my mother 3 months ago...we needed this vacation of a lifetime....relaxing and enjoying the wood that held birds singing in the morning...planning were we wanted to go for the day...I loved my 7 day stay and wish you the best too in making special memories.....you will love it !!!

A much needed getaway vacay!

We stayed for 5 nights in this wonderful cabin. I was perfect for 2 people. The view from the bedroom is amazing. The view from the main floor is alright. The trees could be cut back for a better view. I would advise coming to this cabin for the first time during the day. We arrived in the middle of the night and could hardly see the road that goes up the group of cabins. If you are booking this cabin during the winter months would need 4x4 and poss chains. As the road is pretty steep. It is a quiet area and the hot tub is perfect for 2 people. Its meant for 5 actually. It was much needed after a whole day of hiking.

Beautiful Cabin

My husband and I loved this cabin. Beautiful view. Our only complaint is the bed and bedding. The bed was un comfortable and the sheets rather scratchy! We didn’t look forward to crawling in the bed every night due to that! Also, no coffee or even filters supplied so be mindful of that!

Great cabin and eaisly access.

One of the finest cabin I have ever stay in in the mountains, which I been there many of times. Loved the cabin easily to get to, the road was wide and great parking area for my truck. The cabin was clean threw out and the cleaning person did and excellent job. I am retired military, it could have taken a white glove inspection and pass with flying colors. The only think we could see that the trees over the view of the mountains, is they be trim way back. Still good view but could be a lot better. Liked the door lock to enter. Also like the way Heartland posted all Fees on website site. Not $130 plus addition fees. Would gladly rent this cabin again.

Great to relax and unwind.

The view from the cabin's loft is awesome. The porch combo of swing and hot tub was fantastic. The only dislikes with the cabin were, the kitchen and living room are very tiny and there isn't a bathroom off the master bedroom. I am a Verizon customer and cell service was hit or miss, but since I was there to relax this was fine with me. We ended up extending our trip a day due to snow and the staff was very helpful at working with the cabins owner to accommodate this. We would stay in this cabin again.

Superb Stay in the middle of everything!

Renting is very easy with minimal hassle with Heartland Cabin Rentals! Check-in hours are highly convenient with super friendly staff. Staff called us the morning of to verify what time we anticipated getting in so they could have everything ready for us. Getting access to our cabin for our stay was highly convenient and easy. Keycode access made it super convenient to just check out via a phone call on the day of our departure, meaning we didn't have to stop by the office on our way out of town. Cabins were located literally halfway between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (about 2 min drive to either city), making it super convenient for all of our day-trips. We didn't get to use the fun pass due to simply not having enough time for everything, but definitely would recommend taking advantage of it! Absolutely amazing

My husband and I have been together for 11 years and this was our first vacation/honeymoon and it was exceptional!! The cabin was exactly as pictured and very clean. The view from the bedroom was breathtaking!! This was exactly the peaceful and relaxing vacation that we needed! So much to do and see in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, although I do not recommend going the weekend of Rod Run if car shows are not your thing as it was almost impossible to get through Pigeon Forge. We definitely look forward to coming back next year!!

Nice Cabin in the woods.

The cabin was nice. The pictures online are accurate. The view was very nice. The cabin was clean and a nice place to stay. Couple small issues - there is no wifi in the cabin, so if you're not ready to unplug, you may need to make sure you have cell service. FWIW, we have Sprint and it was very poor in the cabin and the Pigeon Forge area in general. Of course, not the fault of the cabin, however, in today's connected world, I would have liked wifi as I am not someone who disconnects easily and that was not the purpose of the trip. Also, went to use the phone in the cabin to check out, and it did not seem to work.

So, besides the connection issues, it was a very nice place to stay.

Relaxing Anniversary Getaway

My husband and I stayed in Bear Pause for our one year anniversary. The views from the cabin were gorgeous! I loved that it was a cozy little cabin that felt like home. It was conveniently located right between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, so it was easy to access either place. Our favorite part of the cabin was the screened in back porch with the hot tub. We sat in it every night before bed just to unwind from the day. The only part that could be improved upon was the bed. It wasn't very comfortable and it squeaked every time you would roll over during the night.

The buy one get one free attraction tickets were so nice to have! The Hatfield and McCoy show is a must see. We also used it to go white water rafting and putt putt. Overall, we loved the stay and would definitely stay again!

Wonderful and peaceful Experience

We stayed in Bear Pause while celebrating our 10 year anniversary. Everything was perfect and just like it was described. The view was amazing and we loved waking up to the mountain view. This place is far enough out of the city to make it peaceful but close enough to head out for adventures and find places to eat and hang out. We can't wait to come back!

Perfectly relaxing

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was perfect. Relaxing and away from people at the same time being close to town for a nice dinner or catching a show. We didn't end up taking advantage of the tickets since we mostly wanted to stay home away from home, but whenever we come back again (because there will be a return visit) we probably would go zip lining or catch a show. The only thing I will say about Bear Pause is that if you're not an early riser, the sun will light up the cabin around 7 am so you might want to choose a cabin facing a different direction. The knives could use a sharpen as well. Overall BEST experience with the cabin and every Heartland representative we dealt with was awesome! Highly recommend!!

Favorite cabin yet.

The cabin was nice and cozy with and incredible view. First cabin I've stayed in where the bed wasn't in an enclosed room and I loved it. The company was amazing and so were the free admissions for several attractions for each night you stayed. It's also between galinburg and pigeon forge so whichever place you wanted to go, you could.

Cozy Cabin in the Mountains

My boyfriend and I stayed in this cabin for our one year anniversary, and we absolutely loved it! We hardly ever wanted to leave the cabin because it was so cozy and comfortable. The view was exactly how it is seen in the pictures shown, and it was beautiful to wake up to. Of course, like with most cabins, there were other cabins all around, but we never once had any complaints about noise. It was a very quiet environment. We loved our stay, and we will definitely be back in contact with Heartland Cabin Rentals next time we want to visit Pigeon Forge!

We had an amazing time, the registration process with Heartland was super easy, everyone i dealt with was incredibly nice, professional, and helpful. Fantastic!

Cabin was perfect. We loved the loft and views. It seemed so private and quiet. Our 16 yr grandson had a good time with the old folks, made use of the hot tub and didn't complain about going to the Hatfield/Mccoys which was a blast. We hiked and explored the Smokies, zip lined, tree top hiked and welcomed our coming back to Bear Pause every night. It was super clean, furnished so cute and gets an A++++++ all around. Lovely cabin

Highly enjoyed our stay at bear pause. Amazing views in the morning and the jacuzzi was an excellent end to the day. Oh, and add satellite tv to guest room. It only accommodates x box so when we were in for the night my son would sneak to the living room to watch tv, waking us up in the studio upstairs. It's all minor stuff

Dream Honeymoon

We had such an amazing honeymoon at Bear Pause! The cabin is picture perfect - it's super cozy and romantic for two love birds looking to get away and relax. Beautiful and Tranquil Retreat!

My husband and I had such a relaxing stay at Bear Pause cabin. The cabin was very clean and decorated so nicely! Heartland Rentals did a wonderful job as well, making sure we were taken care of during our trip. The cabin itself is nestled in a small community of other nicely maintained cabins. All the cabins face away from each other, so privacy is not an issue. We liked the privacy, but also liked not being completely secluded. Waking up with such a stunning view every morning made us not want to leave! This is honestly the first vacation we have ever taken where we returned rested and renewed. It was the perfect little cabin up in the breathtaking Smoky Mountains!

Perfect cabin for two. Everything worked perfectly. The cabin is in an area with other cabins but it still felt very private on the back deck with hot tub. I've stayed in several cabins in the Smokeys and I think this is the one I will return to.
