Call of the Wild is a true 2 Bedroom log cabin beautifully landscaped and furnished in mountain/Native American decor. It sits on a private wooded lot at the mountain top with seasonal mountain views. The dead end road is great for evening walks, sitting on the front porch in one of the rockers or on the beautiful locally handmade wood swing or just relax on one of the decks to perhaps view the natural wildlife - maybe even a black bear! The charming outdoor fire pit area with charcoal grill and log benches is perfect for fireside fun. Call of the Wild is ideal for enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Smoky Mountains.
On entering the cabin, there is a light-filled living room "The Bear Room" with lots of glass, cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors, gas fireplace, 36" TV with DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen has a dining table perfect for playing cards or other games and opens to a private screened deck with hot tub and open air deck with locally handmade wood furniture.
The romantic master bedroom "The Moose Room" has a king size handmade log bed, jacuzzi tub, electric fireplace, ceiling fan, 36" flat screen TV with DVD player and beautiful full bath including a large walk-in rock shower with glass moose etching, unique pedestal rock vanity and slate floors.
Upstairs is a loft with pool table and another deck with seating for four also including locally handmade wood furniture. The second bedroom "The Wolf Room" with its sloping ceiling and window high in the trees, also has a full bath, king size handmade log bed, ceiling fan and TV. All three TVs are cable connected with movie channels. With its romantic mountain and native American decor, Call of the Wild is a great place for a honeymoon, two couples or even a family of four! CABIN SLEEPS 4 ONLY!

This is our second stay with Heartland and have had great experiences on both! I love how easy it is for check in and communication, it was mostly via text and that is right up my ally! The cabin is beautiful! The only thing I would say that I didn't realize before, is how close it is to other cabins.
Pros:
The showers are BEAUTIFUL and I fell in love.
Pool table, hot tub, 2 balconies, 2 fireplaces, outside firepit, jacuzzi tub in master bedroom.
There were fans in both bedrooms which was a major plus because we're a "white noise" family to sleep!
Beds are very comfortable!
Cons:
Highest balcony on top floor does NOT feel solid, it feels unsafe and "soggy" so we stayed off of it, just to be sure (but it might be fine!)
No privacy for the hot tub - it's just a metal bar type screened in area, where people can see you from the road driving in and out to other cabins
No drawer area in master bedroom, it's either hang-up your clothes or nowhere, honestly.
No counter space and barely any room in master bathroom for toiletries, etc.
With all of this being said, I would stay again; I would just like to have known the "cons" ahead of time - so hopefully this review helps you prepare for your stay! Will stay with Heartland again :)

Very welcoming, lights were on when we arrived. Beautiful, clean cabin. The decor was perfect. We enjoyed our stay. A friend recommended this cabin. I only had 2 concerns, I thought there would be a hairdryer and there was not(just a mild inconvenience) and the outside garbage can needs replaced(the entire bottom was rusted out). Heartland Rentals was so easy to work with, thoughtful and extremely helpful. I will definitely use Heartland Rentals for future booking. AC

I loved the stay! Great location mid-way between PF and Gatlinburg. Saw lots of wildlife! The bed was comfortable, water was hot, AC was comfortable, cabin was clean, and we felt safe. We were married in Gatlinburg and the cabin was able to fit all 10 of our guests for a small celebration after the ceremony. The screened in porch was my favorite. I sat out there every morning for coffee. The jacuzzi was icing on the cake, and we used it almost every night. I appreciate not having chemicals as I’m allergic to chlorine. We were very happy with our stay and cannot wait to return.
The only negatives I have is: 1. master bedroom didn’t have anywhere to unpack clothes which made it very messy for a couple staying for 10+ days. Highly suggest getting some sort of shelving or drawers and including hangers in the closet. We ended up buying some. 2. The list of items within the cabin needs updated - we ended up bringing an ironing board and iron because the list said they were not provided but there was when we arrived, and I brought my keurig which one was provided (thank you).

Call of the Wild is a beautiful cabin on top of a mountain. It is very well decorated in a native American theme and the attention to detail in this cabin is first class. The stone showers are spectacular and truly shows the love the owners have for this property. The trip up the mountain is pretty curvy and about 3
miles up the mountain. But the little neighborhood where Call of the Wild is located is very nice and quiet. A definite good choice for your vacation rental.

The cabin was perfect! We had to check in late, but we drove up to the fire pit string lights on and the porch lights. Easy to see the driveway. When coming inside the tv’s were on, the lamps on and heat running. That was such a nice touch. The cabin was very clean and perfect for our getaway. We loved the fire pit area and hot tub on the screen porch- great additional spaces to such a beautiful cabin! Casey was very helpful with our reservations, answering questions and the late check in. We definitely recommend the Call of the Wild Cabin and Heartland Cabin Rentals. We will be back!

This cabin gets a 5!! Beautiful and clean!! I have been renting from Heartland Cabin Rentals for several years. Everyone is so nice and helpful . After 5 nights we are heading out and I have to say I do not want to leave. Comfortable beds , loved the huge rock shower. My husband always enjoys the tub. We went to Country Tonight and Memories Theater. Enjoyed them both! Always enjoy eating at Peddlers Steakhouse, Park Grill, The Alamo and for the first time we tried Forthworth Texas Kitchen. It was great. We loved it!! We went over to Cherokee and made a donation at the casino. Lol. I would love to stay in Call of the Wild again. Cabin is decorated beautifully. This cabin had plenty of room for the 4 of us, and was very clean upon our arrival. All the furniture was comfortable & and in great shape. The beds were very comfortable also. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked. The hot tub was clean and great to relax in! All outdoor chairs and swing were wonderful, as was the fire pit area. The lights for fire pit & screened in hot tub / deck was an added touch!! Each time I contacted the office, from the first time of renting this cabin to check out, Heartland’s staff was more than professional, but also extremely pleasant & helpful. We loved the cabin, rooms are spacious and bathrooms are great size. Cabin is a great size for 3-4 people. Hot tub and pool table are nice amenities, the only downfall were the bees around the grill and fire pit. We weren’t out there for long but there were quite a bit of them. Despite a hiccup with no water upon arrival, we were notified of the issue promptly and they already had water delivery scheduled for as soon as possible. The water servicer arrived promptly, was friendly, and even saved us the trouble of trying to refill the jacuzzi with the hose by pumping into it for us. The cabin itself is so fun— so much to look at and do. The area is beautiful. It was a stay where we could have happily not left the cabin or the little area it’s nestled in. Everything was clean. The theme was so immersive throughout the cabin, you truly feel you’re in the wild even indoors. Management was so helpful— I believe one wonderful patient woman stayed on the phone with me for much longer than anyone should reasonably expect— and helped me pick a few places to explore with the family, and explain where to go for the different things we needed. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you to the owner(s) and Heartland Rentals for being so organized and pleasant. We hope to visit ‘Call of the Wild’ again.

We had an amazing vacation. This is our fourth vacation in the Smokies and the second one with Heartland Cabin Rentals. We want to come back as after every daily hike our daughter told us “This was my favorite hike!” We will look nowhere else but to Heartland for renting again.
The location was perfect, cuddled in the hills, we even saw a mother bear and 2 cubs peacefully crossing the road 40 feet from our cabin door ( we were outside grilling).
The cabin was very very clean and had all that we needed.
We all wished it was a 2 week vacation not just one!

We loved Call of the Wild Cabin!!! Have stayed with Heartland before in another cabin, but loved the pictures of this cabin and booked it. The cabin is absolutely beautifully decorated. I loved the stone showers. We will definitely be back!!! Only issue was our air conditioning wasn't working one morning. Heartland was quick to have it serviced, the cabin was cook again when we came back that afternoon. Thank you to the owners of the cabin for opening their home in the Smokies to guests.

We had a great time at the cabin. It was perfect for our family of 4. My boys loved playing pool daily. We saw a couple of bears and wild turkeys. We used the fire pit to roast marshmallows and make smores. Rock showers were fabulous. Loved relaxing in the jetted tub with a movie in. Hottub was great too. Loved the extra perk of Xplorie, got to take advantage of some great deals and see/do more in the area. Dollywood, Soaky Mountain, Lumberjack Fued and Rowdy Top Coaster. We would definitely choose this cabin again if we come back to TN.

Peaceful, Relaxing, Choices of FUN!
The cabin was clean, quite and charming...but on the fun side of charming. It was easy to find, and we had no problems remembering how to get back to the cabin when we went out adventure seeking! We came to "see a bear". Although we did not see a bear, I did see a mountain lion ( actually a cat that I just thought I would call it a mountain lion to make my trip sound more exciting)! The beds were comfy. The room downstairs was dark when we went to bed....and stayed dark. I slept til after 8 one morning and after 9 another morning....I NEVER DO THAT, I am generally an early riser. So if you like it quiet and dark while you sleep to your hearts desire...this is the place!! Loved the rocked showers!! I think I would love that in my home! We were pleased with guest services..they were very helpful and pleasant to work with. We hope to be back soon!!! Thank you for a relaxing, stress free weekend!

Perfect cabin for our family.
My only suggestion would be to add some sort of tall standing dresser or something in the master bedroom on the main level. There was no storage for clothing other than in the dresser out in the living space. We had a great time and even saw a bear one morning while having coffee on the upstairs deck

Amazing Cabin and location!
This is our 3rd time staying at Call Of The Wild and boy did it hold up to it's name! We spotted many bears throughout the week and love how cozy the cabin is. Beautiful decor, just close enough to attractions but far enough away to feel peacefulness.

The cabin is very nice. I would recommend the call of the wild to others and would stay there again. Very clean. It is a little bit of a drive to get there but we didn’t mind it.

AMAZING
We loved Call of the Wild!!! It was situated in a quiet peaceful area and on our way back from town one day, less than 1/4 of a mile from the cabin WE SAW A BABY BEAR!!! Literally in 30 years of coming to the mountains this trip was the best. The cabin was clean, welcoming, and relaxing. Our 3 boys loved it!

The cabin was beautiful !!! Location is amazing. Everything we did in Pigeon Forge AND Gatlinburg was only about a 20 min ride. The cabin is in a nice quiet area away from all the traffic so you can relax. Thank you for helping to make our family vacation a great one. We'll definitely be back.

A great place to stay
Everything was as advertised. I loved all the different ornaments that made the cabin the Call of the Wild. Every time I went by something I noticed something different. I enjoyed the pool table very much. Was a great pass time the day we were snowed in. Cabin was clean and well maintained.

Wonderfel Experience
The staff at Heartland were great from the onset of reserving this cabin. Very friendly, helpful, and professional. They called to offer us an early check-in, which we accepted. Then they called to make sure everything was ok, and to our liking once we got to the cabin. Upon every paid night's stay, you receive a free admission to several attractions of your choice. We used the free admission to the Ripley's Aquarium. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous on the inside. Very well kept, clean and had every amenity needed. I will definitely call Heartland again for my next reservation, and will ask for this same cabin. We loved it, and had a wonderful Christmas there!

An awesome vacation!
Heartland Rentals is a great company to work with. This is the first time we have used them and we will definitely use them again. When I called to ask about a couple of the cabins they answered every question I had and even pointed out things about each cabin that I hadn't thought of.
Ashley checked us in when we arrived at the office and she was so friendly and helpful. Gave great directions and answered all my questions. She is a great asset to the company.

Heartland Rentals online booking was easy. Liked that they called for verification after online booking. Call of the Wild cabin was excellent
The cabin was just as the pictures showed. We had an excellent week going Horseback riding, whitewater rafting, hiking and just enjoying the area around Gatlinburg. We will definitely be back to stay again.

Overall stay was very good,
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Call of the Wild. When we were to check in, the office had closed early do to illness, but they called us en route and left the information in the lock box, so it was not a problem. The first night we spent there, the heater failed and it was very cold in the cabin. The next morning, we called when the office opened and the repair person was there promptly and had it fixed by about 10:30am.
Otherwise, the cabin was very clean and comfortable. It was a nice place to stay for our family of five.
A couple of things you should know: the checkout procedure page was missing from your binder , and the coffee maker was leaking, so it may need to be replaced.

Great Family Vacation
We had a wonderful stay in our cabin. It had everything we needed, was clean, and in a beautiful setting. The kids especially loved the hot tub. My husband loved the pool table. We all enjoyed making s'mores over the fire pit. Heartland rentals were easy to work with and very friendly. The discounts they offered were great too!

Very beautiful and relaxing stay at Call of the Wild cabin.
From the time we arrived at the Heartland Rentals office in Pigeon Forge, we had an amazing stay. The directions to the cabin were easy to follow and spot on. The cabin was beautiful and well decorated and was as described on the website. The guest book was fun to read. Everything worked and we had no issues during our stay. We really enjoyed the fire pit and grill area as well as the hot tub. The hand crafted furniture was a great addition and we even took a drive out to the place that made it. Even though the drive from the parkway to the cabin was a little insane it was well worth it.

Very relaxing.
The cabin was spacious and very clean. The only problem was that there were smelly candles and potpourri around the cabin. As I am highly allergic to these smells, I had to remove them to the back porch. Other than that the stay was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Wonderfully awesome and blessed experience from the best and friendliest people you will find anywhere, made our 40th anniversary very special.
The staff at Heartland treat you like the most valued and treasured family member they have. The cabins are beautiful and immacultantly clean. With all the attractions in the area you are close yet secluded enough to experience the Great Smokies and sit out in the back and watch wildlife, rest in a hot tub or sit and roast marshmallows. One family back at our church told me they are tempted to come just to stay at the cabin all week and go into Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg for a couple hours a day to take in a show or do some shopping. I think that's what we will do next time. We loved it and would highly recommend it, the shows were great, dining in the area was fantastic and we went to the aquarium and seen the Lumberjack Fued. They are truly a gateway to fun, even more than that, Doug, Shelia and the entire staff goes out of their way to make sure you are well taken care of and as Christians they all show the love of Jesus Christ towards you. They helped make our 40th anniversary, wonderful, worry free and great. Thank you, Heartland.
