Q:

Do the cabins have an indoor fireplace?

Most of our units have either gas-burning, electric, or wood-burning fireplaces. Be sure to inquire about your cabin’s fireplace prior to shopping for firewood in case you have a gas log fireplace. All fireplaces are for seasonal use from October 1st through April 1st. No foreign materials or roasting hot dogs and marshmallows are to be burned in gas fireplaces. You may be charged for any resulting damages from such activity. Heartland Rentals nor cabin owners does not supply firewood for the cabins. You can find firewood bundles just about anywhere, common areas are gas stations and grocery stores. Please do not bring your own firewood from home to burn.

Q:

Do you offer Trip Insurance?

Your Trip Insurance starts the day that your reservation begins and it will cover you if someone in the group or immediate family gets sick and is not able to come (doctor’s note required), if there is an immediate death in the family (you would have to provide proof) or if there was inclement weather and you are not able to get to the cabin when you arrive. Needless to say, yes, and please offer proof of explanation.

Q:

Will the area have bad weather, snow, or ice?

About that Trip Insurance! Trip Insurance is highly recommended during the winter months. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather. Weather can change quickly in the Great Smoky Mountains. Please plan your trip accordingly. Chains and/or four-wheel drive vehicles are required during the winter months (November through April). We do not offer transportation to your cabin rental. While the weather is unpredictable here in the mountains, we recommend that you bring a flashlight and extra blankets in the case of a power outage.

Q:

Is there a minimum night stay required?

We do require a two-night stay with all of our cabins unless you are visiting during a holiday that will require a three to four-night stay. We do allow one-night rentals if available only.

Q:

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Due to holding accommodations per the reservations and not renting reserved units or dates to others, payments cannot be returned, unless cancellation occurs greater than 15 days of your arrival date. If your date of cancellation is greater than 15 days from your arrival date, your deposit less an administration fee of $90.00 (plus tax) will be refunded. If you cancel less than 15 days prior to your arrival day, the entire deposit is forfeited and not returned. Trip insurance is non-refundable.

Q:

What is the “Gateway to Fun Pass”?

With your reservation, you will receive our “Gateway to Fun Pass”. This pass gives you one free adult admission per unit, a prepaid night stay to popular attractions. Attractions include (but may vary): Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Ripley’s Old MacDonald’s Farm Mini-Golf, Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show, Comedy Barn Theater, Smoky Mountain Opry, Darren Romeo: Magic Beyond Belief, Country Tonite Music Show, Smith Morning Variety Show, Amazing Animals Show, USA Raft, Adventure Park Ziplines, and Legacy Mountain Ziplines. *Reservations are often required in advance and restrictions may apply and attractions offered may vary over time.
