Itinerary For A 2 Day Mini-Vacation in the Smokies

2 Day Bucket List
1. After checking in at Heartland Rentals, stop at the Welcome Center to pick up any maps or brochures to attractions in town.
2. Drop by the Old Mill to take a free tour and learn about the history behind it all.
3. Pop over to Patriot Park and feed the ducks along the river bank or go for a brisk walk around the loop.
4. If you would like to see a live metalwork demonstration, you can view this for free at the Iron Mountain Metal Craft in Old Mill Square.
5. Stroll around The Island in Pigeon Forge, they have a dancing fountain light show that plays along with superb music! While you’re there, hop aboard The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel.
6. Drive through Wears Valley and go antiquing. There are several stops along the way where you can also stop for a picnic!
7. Go for pancakes! Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are filled to the brim with outstanding pancake houses.
8. Challenge each other to a friendly game of putt-putt or race go-karts. We like Crave Golf Club and Professor Hackers for mini golf and The Track for go-karts.
9. Drive through the Historic Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail in Gatlinburg. Several short hikes lead to waterfalls and even a historic homestead!
10. Visit the shops in the Arts and Crafts Community in the Glades. You can watch potters throw clay, watch basket weavers hard at work, and see candlemakers dipping their creations.
11. Go for a fancy dinner at The Peddler, an authentic log cabin in Gatlinburg.
12. Listen to live bluegrass music in the Ole Smoky Holler, or stroll the downtown strip of Gatlinburg.
13. Watch the sunset from the deck of your Heartland cabin. Better yet, watch the sunset from the hot tub on the deck of your Heartland cabin!
