Seven Islands State Birding Park is a nature enthusiast’s dream when limited for time. There are two main paved trails that allow you to get in a quick nature walk, you can even bring your pet. One direction will lead you towards the pastureland and over a bridge and down near the French Broad River. At the base of the river you will find a few picnic tables to enjoy a sunny lunch. The other direction takes you into some elevation to the old homestead where you will find a farmhouse, an old stable barn, and some informative plaques. There are numerous hiking trails in different intensities and elevations, as well as a kayak drop in. The park offers many activities throughout the calendar year, and you are sure to see a broad range of pollinators and deer.
