Wears Valley’s Hidden “Gem”, Red Jasper

Red Jasper Beer Garden and Gem Mine is a locally owned watering hole situated beside a private waterfall in Wears Valley known to the locals as the cascades- it has been renamed Red Jasper Falls. Previously Friendly Falls Food and Stuff, Red Jasper, now under new ownership, offers an open-air structure that resembles a side-of-the-road shanty with chill vibes, cold drinks, games, and good eats.

At Red Jasper, you can expect to find Adirondack chairs, hammocks, a fire pit, picnic tables, and direct river access. The sunsets are great here, there are even twinkle lights that enhance an early evening riverside hang. There are a variety of activities such as darts, cornhole, and gem mining- and the kitchen is currently being remodeled, but will soon have house-made menu offerings. You’ll find a wide selection of beverages for all ages and they currently allow picnics while the kitchen is being renovated.
