Spruce Flats Falls Trail:
Spruce Flats Falls is a dainty little waterfall with several dips and spills. You can find Spruce Flats Falls in the Tremont area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Tremont is easily accessed from Wears Valley. If you are looking to have a quiet hike to a waterfall and enjoy some peace and quiet, this trail is for you! It isn’t as well known as the other waterfalls in the park and because of that, there are far fewer trail hikers you’ll have to encounter. The trail itself is a little rugged at times and has some steep points- but it is still considered moderate in difficulty. The trail length is just under 2 miles and parking can be found at the Tremont Institute in Townsend.
Walker Sisters Place:
Staying in one of our Wears Valley cabins will offer you the shortest commute to Walker Sisters Place. The Walker Sisters Place is a quiet little homestead tucked away nearby to the Metcalf Bottoms area of the park. Metcalf Bottoms would be a great starting point for you and your family before you proceed to the trailhead or a great place to wind up after you visit the Walker Sisters Place. Walker Sisters trail is around 2.2 miles round trip and the springtime is the most magical time to visit because the trail is blanketed with a wildflower carpet guiding you the entire way. The Walker Sisters Place is an old-world homestead frozen in time that offers enough living history to help you paint a picture of the past.
